Washburn, George E. (1977)



Washburn pitched for the New York Yankees in 1914 and also was on the Cincinnati roster. He came to Bucksport of the EAstern Maine League as a 16 year old and immediately was a regular. He played several years in the high minors and also managed there. George resides in Green Well Spring LA, a native of Solon. Vern Putney PPH 10/10 1977

George Edward Washburn (October 6, 1914 – January 5, 1979), was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played in 1941 with the New York Yankees. He batted left and threw right-handed. Washburn had a 0–1 record, with a 13.50 ERA, in one game, in his one-year career.


He was born in Solon, Maine, and died in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
